The 39th Shanghai Spring International Music Festival would be held from March 22nd to April 14th.

The theme of this music festival is Praising the New Era, featuring 66 main performances, 10 special themed activities, and a variety of exhibition activities. This year's music festival is the first large-scale cultural festival exhibition event in Shanghai, and its opening performance scale and number of international performances will reach a historical high record. The Chinese original choir work Dancing Ava by performers from SHNU School of Music vividly embodies the Wa ethnic culture of passion, singing and dancing by traversing time and space, and returning to nature through the form of unaccompanied choir performance, and reflecting the rough and bold life scenes of the Wa people. Also, poem recitals and a capella song performance were also staged by SHNU teachers and students at the music festival.

Altogether 18 art performance programs were invited to participate in this special performance in Shanghai, including 4 music instrumental programs, 5 choruses, 2 campus short plays, 4 dance series, 2 musicals, and 1 poem recital. The SHNU has participated in three performances, including choir, recitation, and instrumental music, with the highest number of performances among all universities in Shanghai.
