SHNU: A delegation consisting of 14 science teachers of the New York University paid a visit to SHNU on July 28th to learn about the teaching of Science courses and education in China.
Relevant people from SHNU International Affairs Office extended warm welcome to the delegates and talked about the features and advantages of SHNU in teacher education. Prof. Zhan Minxuan, Dean of International and Comparative Education Research Institute, made a report entitled Result and Reflection: PISA 2012 and Basic Education of Shanghai.
Based on the performance of Shanghai students in PIZA, Zhang introduced the social basis and reasons for Shanghai to take part in the program and analyzed the gains of Shanghai in PIZA as well as the successful experience.
After the report, the science teachers had an in-depth discussion on such issues as the professional development mechanism of China, improvement strategy of the university, preparations for future PIZA, etc.
