First Senior Class of TCM Translation and English Teachers Held in SHNU

SHNU: A senior training program of TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) for English teachers and TCM translation was kicked off on August 1st and lasted until August 6.
The training program aims at promoting the development of TCM English translation in order to adapt to the globalization of TCM. About 60 teachers and students from 9 TCM universities, some medicine enterprise of international reputation attended the program.
The dean of SHNU Foreign Languages College Li Zhaoguo gave key lectures to the trainees, including the history of TCM translation, the theoretical framework of TCM translation, terminology translation and archives translation of TCM, etc. Also, Sonya Pritzker, Dr of anthropology from UCLA and Shelly Ochs, American TCM translator and special expert from China Science Academy of TCM, and a professor from Fudan University, taught in the program.
The experts won general acclaim from the trainees who benefited with profound academic knowledge, unique professional vision and fascinating case analyses from the lecturers.
The trainees were also conferred certificates after the program. They were encouraged to score better in future teaching, translation and scientific research.
