SHNU: On October 31st, Lin Pan, PHD and now teacher of IOE（Institute of Education）of University of London, delivered a speech at SHNU and attracted about more than a hundred teachers and students. Themed English as a Global Language in China-Deconstructing the Ideological Discourse of English in Language Education, Dr. Pan probed the cult of language ideologies, the de-emphasis of English from last year, research question conclusions and methods, and English as a threat with pragmatic examples, mini-questionnaires and surveys. Dr. Pan shared her experience in IOE of University of London, and encouraged those interested in learning there to raise questions, as the IOE is such a prestigious institute in Britain or even in Europe. |
