On March 25th, during the inaugural lecture of the "Academician Lecture Series" in thesecond Graduate Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Montof SHNU, Cheng Guodong, a permafrost scientist, CAS Member, foreign academician of the Russian Academy of Engineering Sciences, and Honorary Dean of the School of Environment and Geographical Sciences at SHNU, vividly elaborated on the profound connotations of the spirit of scientists for the students.
This Graduate Innovation and Science Month event is meticulously designed around five key aspects: academic frontiers, research ethics, industry-academia collaboration, model selection, and peer mentorship. It features flagship activities such as the Academician Lecture Series, Scientific Integrity and Academic Ethics Workshops, Industry Innovation Camps, the "Academic Innovation Pioneer" Awards, and Alumni Salon.
It is reported that the "Academician Lecture Series" will invite six academicians from such fieldsas molecular manufacturing and information technology applications to deliver themed lectures to graduate students across the university.
ZhaoYang, Vice Party Committee Secretary and Vice President of SHNU, along with Wang Tao, Deputy Director of the Shanghai Student Affairs Center, awarded the second batch of "Academic and Scientific Innovation Pioneers" for graduate students and faculty members who won prizes in the national competitions of the "Ten Major Contests" and the Yangtze River Delta Science Ethics Essay Competition in 2025.
At the Science and Technology Innovation Month launch ceremony, the school also initiated an industry science and technology innovation camp in collaboration with the Caohejing Industrial Park and five enterprises from Shanghai's three leading sectors: artificial intelligence, integrated circuits, and bio-pharmaceuticals. Industry experts were invited to serve as "science and technology innovation mentors."
