On October 16th, new and old alumni of Shanghai Normal University gathered to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the university. Also, the conference on high-quality development of teacher education was held. Gong Zheng, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and Mayor, attended and delivered a speech.
Gong Zheng warmly congratulates Shanghai Normal University on the fruitful achievements in its construction and development over the past 70 years. He said that Shanghai Normal University has always adhered to the school motto of virtue, erudition, seeking truth, and diligence, and has trained a large number of excellent teachers and high-quality talents for the country and Shanghai.
Yuan Wen, President of Shanghai Normal University, delivered a speech, stated that our mission is on our shoulders, from promoting education and serving the country, to building a strong nation of education.
Other speakers at the forum included academicians of CAE, presidents from other universities, and outstanding alumni of SHNU.
Also, a STEM Education Regional Collaborative Innovation Experimental Alliance was founded at the conference.
