Recently, the Evaluation Report on the Influence of Chinese Libraries in the Digital Age (2024) was officially released. The report selected 2820 ordinary university libraries (including 1,275 undergraduate college libraries and 1,545 vocational (college) college libraries), 1,980 public libraries, and 399 professional libraries in China for evaluation. A total of 18 rankings have been generated from multiple dimensions such as region, university type, and library category. Our university library has been rated as a 5-star library, ranking 46th in the Overall Influence Ranking of Chinese Undergraduate University Libraries, and 2nd in the Influence Ranking of General Undergraduate University (Non Double First Class) Libraries.
The report is based on the era of digital intelligence and open network environment, systematically reviewing existing research and summarizing, and constructing a five dimensional integrated BWNSA library influence evaluation model (five primary indicators of basic strength, network influence, new media influence, social influence, and academic influence), as well as 21 secondary indicators aiming to comprehensively, scientifically, objectively, and accurately evaluate and study the influence of libraries in China.
