From December 6th to 8th, a series of activities of the award - giving ceremony for the 21st “Huawei Cup“ China Postgraduate Mathematical Modeling Contest were held at the Central Campus of Shandong University. The participating group composed of Ju Xinyi, Chen Yilin and Yang Yifan, postgraduate students majoring in Computer Science and Technology in the School of Information, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering of our university in 2023, performed excellently in the competition and won the first - prize in the national competition. This is also the only team in our university to win the first - prize in the national competition this year.
In this competition, 20,247 graduate student teams submitted their papers, and a total of 242 teams were selected for the first prize in both domestic and international competitions (with a winning rate of approximately 1.19%). The group of Ju Xinyi, Chen Yilin and Yang Yifan achieved an excellent result of ranking 33rd nationwide in Problem C group.
The three SHNU winners proposed a comprehensive prediction model and improvement strategy by combining data-driven patterns, physics modeling, and machine learning methods. By consulting a large number of documents, they systematically analyzed the action mechanisms of multiple factors on magnetic core loss, and combined data-driven, physical models and machine-learning methods to propose a comprehensive prediction model and improvement strategies. This competition has demonstrated everyone's solid academic foundation, rigorous logical thinking, excellent innovative ability and outstanding teamwork spirit.
