SHNU Establishes a Digital Economy Research Center

On April 20th, 2025, the annual conference of the Shanghai Big Data Social Application Research Association and the Digital Economy Seminar kicked off at SHNU School of Business. At the meeting, the Digital Economy Research Center of Shanghai Normal University (SHNU) was unveiled and established. This conference is jointly organized by the Shanghai Big Data Social Application Research Association and SHNU, with the theme of Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and the Future of Social Development. Through the four major sections of the Shanghai Big Data Social Application Research Association's membership conference, annual conference main forum, sub forum, and round table forum, it gathers the wisdom of government, industry, academia, and research, and deeply explores the development opportunities and challenges of the digital age.

The SHNU President Yuan Wen emphasized in her welcome speech that the deep integration of artificial intelligence and digital economy is profoundly reshaping social forms, and universities should shoulder the dual mission of technological breakthroughs and humanistic care. She used  SHNU as an example to introduce the innovative exploration in the field of AI+education, and called on the academic community to jointly meet the challenges of technological ethics and social governance.

At the opening ceremony, the Shanghai Normal University Digital Economy Research Center was officially unveiled and founded. Professor Yu Yunjiang, the director of the center, introduced that the center will focus on four major directions, including artificial intelligence and labor economy and digital finance, to create a collaborative innovation platform for industry university research.

At the afternoon meeting, two parallel venues were set up, including a sub forum on Artificial Intelligence and Social Development and a round-table forum on Digital Economy and Social Development.
