SHNU 1st French Cooperative Program Candidate Passed Doctor's Degree Paper Defense

SHNU: On June 9^th, the first cooperative program of SHNU comparative literature and world literature majors and EPHE (Ecole Pratique Des Hautes Etudes), the 2+2 Doctor’s Degree Development Program (2 years of learning in SHNU followed by 2 years spent at EPHE), had its first paper defense in SHNU.

The defense judges included professors and scholars from University of Paris (Sorbonne), Fudan University, University of Columbia, East China Normal University, and Université Paris X), etc.

The candidate survived bilingual questions from the panel judges in both French and Chinese.

According to the development agreement, the candidate would be conferred Doctor’s Degree Diplomas of both universities: SHNU and EPHE.

The theme of the paper is Rédemption et délivrance : Présence du bouddhisme dans le théâtre de Paul Claudel.
