SHNU Visited by Short-term Exchange Students of INHolland University of Applied Sciences

SHNU: An opening ceremony for the “Expedition INCHINA” short-term class was held on April 12. As the first student delegation from Holland, students from INHolland University of Applied Sciences started their 28-day study in SHNU.
    SHNU Vice President Lu Jianfei, and relevant staff from International Exchange Division, ICCS, Finance College, etc. attended the ceremony.
    Lu made a brief introduction of SHNU and expounded the internationalized university running concept of SHNU. He extended a warm welcome to Dutch students, hoping the SHNU tour would enrich their life experience. He also gave each of the guests a T-shirt printed with the Chinese name of SHNU.
    Drs. J.C. M. van Mook, a teacher who led the delegation expressed gratitude for the reception of SHNU, saying “to study and live in SHNU is a really interesting experience”. He said all the students were glad to come to Shanghai during the World Expo.
    SHNU has carefully arranged the timetable for the stay of the guests: there will be professional classes like Chinese Classes, Cultural Classes, Classes of Chinese Martial Arts, etc.; there will be “English Corner” in which students from both universities can talk face to face; there will be “master classes”in which specially invited experts will deliver lectures; there will be visiting activities including the Xuhui and Fengxian Campus, touring around the city. A visit to Expo will be arranged for Dutch guests on May 7.
    According to the agreement reached between the two universities in 2009, SHNU will also send 30 students to Holland this summer.
