SHNU: On June 24th, Myoseki Shimura, Japanese renowned seal cutter, and reviewer of Japan Fine Arts Exhibition, was invited to visit SHNU and took the floor at 2010 SHNU Overseas Master Forum.
The speech was titled Inheritance and Innovation of Seal Cutting Arts.
Shimara extended his gratitude for what Chinese characters have contributed to the present of Japanese Kana, and the impressive influence that Chinese culture had on Japanese culture.
Shimura’s talk revealed the essence of true life which benefited the student audience of varying majors, since art is universal and boundless.
Shimura also gladly made calligraphy strokes for SHNU Qiushi Seal Cutting Society.
It is noted that there would be a Shimura Special Innovative Seal Cutting Show at Shanghai Library from June 30th to July 14th.
