SHNU: On September 10th, John P. Smol, visiting scholar from Queen’s University and member of Canadian Academy of Science, was invited to take floor at SHNU Xuesihu International Scholars’ Forum. The speech is titled “Using Lake Sediments to Address Major Water Quality Issues”.
The speech centers on the research methods of taking advantage of core samples to study the transition of paleolimnology, so as to provide evidence for global warming and the necessity of environmental protection.
SHNU Vice President Lu Jianfei attended the talk and presented gifts to Professor Smol. He hoped that there would be more cooperation and exchanges between SHNU and Queen’s University and the academic institutions that Smol works for.
