SHNU and EUR to Further Cooperation on Urban Studies

 
SHNU: On May 23, Ms. Pauline van der Meer Mohr, President of Estramus University Rotterdam (EUR) and Ms. Zeng Weijia, Director of the Chinese Center of EUR, paid a visit to SHNU to discuss further cooperation on urban studies.

SHNU Party Secretary Lu Jianfei gave a welcome speech and briefly introduced the university. He said the university board of SHNU would fully support the development of Sino-European Comparative Urban Research Center (SECURC) by giving more inputs financially and systematically. Ms. Pauline said her university was quite willing to cooperate with SHNU and hoped both sides could do concrete things to promote the study. Feng Xiang, associate professor of SHNU College of Tourism and secretary general of the advisory board of SECURC, stated the working outline and action plan of the board in 2014.

SHNU Vice Presidents Liu Xiaomin and Mao Xuncheng, Prof. Wu Cheng, Director of International Affairs Office, Prof. Gao Jun, Vice Dean of College of Tourism, associate professor Lin Tao and Dr. Li Xiande attended the meeting.

As early as 2006, SHNU and EUR have jointly established SECURC. In 2013, the two universities set up the Institute of Urban Studies (IUS), which was headed by Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences. SECURC is one of the key centers under the umbrella of IUS. The establishment of the advisory board for SECURC is to use the modern way to guide its development direction.
