SHNU Undertakes the 3rd Sino-US Conversation of Superintendents of Ministry of Education

    The 3rd Sino-US Conversation of Superintendents of Departments of Education, jointed held by Chinese Ministry of Education and US Department of Education, undertaken by SHNU, was held in Shanghai Science Hall, on May13th.
    On the opening ceremony, SHNU President Zhu Ziqing briefly introduced SHNU. Christopher Minnich, Executive Director of US States Primary and Secondary School Education Officials Council, Su Ming, Director of Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, Vivien Stewart, Vice President of Asia Society, and officials from 17 Chinese Departments of Education at provincial or city level and from 8 US Departments of Education at state level attended the ceremony.
    They swapped ideas on the cooperation potential and prospective, educational philosophy, policies, management and courses. The law of elementary education of the US was also among the topics of discussion at the meeting. “Teacher’s professional development” and “student evaluation” were the focus of both parties.
    Prof. Zhang Minxuan, former President of SHNU, introduced the first topic for discussion—teacher’s professional development.
    The US representatives made a field investigation in two middle schools of Shanghai during the meeting.
