Confucius Institute of University of Botswana Starts Chinese Language Classes for Local Officials

SHNU: On July 23^rd, the Chinese Language Training Classes for Local Botswana Government Officials were officially kicked off on the campus of UB (University of Botswana). Sponsored by Chinese Embassy in Botswana and the Confucius Institute (CI) of UB, it involved officials from the embassy, the Chinese Dean of CI of UB, and 48 government officials from the Immigration Bureau, General Headquarters of Police and Ministry of Industry and Trade of Botswana.

 

It is expected that that the learners could take this opportunity to promote relations between Botswana and China and further strengthens the basis of friendship and cooperation by learning the Chinese language to access closer to Chinese people.

 

The training involved basic Pinyin knowledge, simple Chinese characters and daily languages. Free Chinese learning materials were offered.
