On the evening of October 25th, the Boundless Theater: 'AI Beyond Boundaries', A Special Performance of Music and Dance Integrating Art and Technology, hosted by Shanghai Normal University, organized by the School of Music of Shanghai Normal University (SHNU), and supported by the Shanghai Normal University Education Development Foundation, was held at the Concert Hall on the Xuhui Campus.
Boundless Theater: Season 1 serves as a groundbreaking interdisciplinary art initiative meticulously crafted by the School of Music at SHNU. Centered on the theme of Deep Integration of Science and Art, this avant-garde event showcases nine original works by faculty and students, presenting cutting-edge achievements in fields such as intelligent composition and interactive music, digital choreography and intelligent movement, generative visuals, and immersive environments.
The opening piece, AI Beyond Boundaries, utilizes Midjourney visual generation capabilities and Vidu dynamic imaging technology to transform abstract AI algorithms into flowing visual symbols, accompanied with original musical melodies.
The work Momentary achieves a dynamic dialogue between technology and the body through a drone interactive control system.
The musical work “Paper Airplane in the Schoolbag” was created with the assistance of the DeepSeek platform for text generation, combined with the Suno AI composition tool, transforming campus memories into a healing melody. The piece “Fantasy in the Cloud Cave” employs motion capture and virtual imagery generation technology to construct an immersive visual illusion.
The grand finale Questioning the Boundary integrates multiple AI tools and technical platforms, elevating the entire performance to its climax. This work combines Suno AI for music composition assistance, Arena for image generation, and DeepSeek for creative refinement, bringing together multiple performers for a collaborative rendition.
The Boundless AI special performance delivered an artistic feast that combined profound thought with stunning audiovisual impact, creating an immersive artistic space where artificial intelligence merging with music and dance.
