On November 28, the Second "Young Teachers’ Gathering" Forum of the Shanghai Young Teachers Association was successfully held at Shanghai Normal University (SHNU), attracting over a hundred representatives of young teachers from higher education institutions across the city. Leaders from the Shanghai Education Workers' Union, representatives from member units of the Shanghai Youth Federation, expert advisors for the Young Teachers Competition, and some young teacher representatives attended the forum. Yang Haiyan, the head of SHNU Labour Union, attended the forum and delivered a welcome speech. On behalf of the university, she expressed sincere gratitude for the strong support provided by the Shanghai Education Workers' Union. She also reviewed and summarized popular activities such as the "Open Classes for Young Teachers," "Young Teachers’ Career Development Forum," "Teacher Growth and Family Education Guidance Series Lectures," and the "Online Knowledge Competition for Health Empowerment." By leveraging the platform of the Young Teachers Association, these initiatives effectively facilitate communication and collaboration among young teachers in Shanghai in both teaching and research fields, fully inspiring the enthusiasm of the young teaching community.
It is reported that the Youth League recently launched an online knowledge competition titled "Healthy Weight, Empowering Life" among teachers citywide, attracting over 6,000 participants to compete online. This initiative aims to thoroughly implement national calls for the “Healthy China Action” and the “Year of Weight Management,” promote scientifically sound weight management and health knowledge, and enhance teachers’ overall health literacy and weight management skills.
As an important bridge connecting young teachers to the Shanghai Education Workers' Union, the Shanghai Youth Federation bears the core mission of “supporting the growth and development of young teachers.” It has meticulously planned and carried out teaching exchange activities reflecting Shanghai’s urban characteristics, aiming to enhance young teachers’ sense of happiness and belonging, and providing solid support for their professional development.
