Recently, theChina Ministry of Science and Technology and the National Natural Science Foundation of China released the approval notice for the 2025 National Key R&D Program and some major special projects under the National Natural Science Foundation. As the leading institution, SHNU (Shanghai Normal University)secured a total of 8 projects, including 1 project under the National Key R&D Program of the Ministry of Science and Technology, 1 Young Scientist Fund Project (Category A) (formerly the National Distinguished Young Scholars Program) from the National Natural Science Foundation, 2 Key Projects, 1 Joint Fund Key Project, 1 International Cooperation Key Project, and 2 Special Projects. The total allocated funding amounts to 25.56 million yuan RMB. The 8 approved projects span strategic fields critical to national food security, ecological safety, high-end equipment, and frontier basic science, covering areas such as extreme strong-field physics, deep-space optical detection equipment, galactic astrophysics research, heavy metal pollution control, directional synthesis of advanced materials, stress-resistant breeding in agricultural biology, and crop disease prevention mechanisms.
