On March 8th, the opening ceremony and enrollment education for the 2026 higher education continuing education freshmen at Shanghai Normal University (SHNU) were held in the concert hall, and were live streamed online. It was also attended by Vice President Li Guojuan. The concert hall was fully booked, with 8, 215 people watching the live stream online and a total of 45, 270 likes.
Li Guojuan, on behalf of SHNU, welcomes new students and puts forward three requirements for all new students: first, to have a strong sense of family and country; second, to be a practitioner who integrates knowledge and action; and third, to cultivate one's character and ethics.
Professor Yang Deguang, the former principal, gave a lecture on the "First Lesson of Enrollment" for the new students. Combining his decades of learning, work, and philanthropic experiences, he passionately shared four dreams - "Dream of Reading", "Dream of Striving for Strength", "Dream of Educators", and "Dream of Charity".
Yang Yong, a 2024 graduate majoring in administrative management and 54 years old this year, spoke as a representative of senior students. He is a retired soldier,andhead of a private enterprise. Based on his own experience of returning to school, he shared his learning methods and genuine insights on balancing work and study, and encouraged new students with his own experiences. At the opening ceremony, the leaders seated on the podium presented the school emblem to the new student representatives.
